St. Patrick's is partnering with Fr. Jeremiasz Tomasz Brzeziński in Poland and his Franciscan Monastery in Nysa to help refugees from Ukraine. . All the funds raised will go directly to support families that have fled Ukraine.
Fr. Jeremiasz is Fr. Tomasz's classmate from High School and he is working hard to welcome and host refugees as we speak. Fr. Tomasz spoke with Fr. Jeremiasz the other day. They have already prepared and reconfigured unused space for 50 to welcome refugees. The families they will host are long-term stay families that will be staying there for months to come until they are ready to go back to Ukraine when the war is over. Some of them may wait for their husbands and father to join them in the future. They have no place to go.
This past week, they have welcomed more mothers with their children and as of today, March 21, they are close to full capacity. This is so heart-warming. Most of the funds we raise will be used to provide for the refugees' basica and daily needs. Some of it we will alocate to renovate a couple of apartments they the monastery owns to rent free of charge to families who most need it. As St. Patrick's staff we were thrilled to be able to help with that as well considering that we have been very successful thus far with a fundraiser and the generosity of so many people.
Fr. Jeremiasz and his Franciscan brothers are doing an amazing job as Ukraine is facing this crisis of massive war refugee migration. They have already welcomed refugees and are waiting to welcome more families in the weeks to come. Please, keep them in your prayers.
Please visit our website over the weekend to learn more. We are working on it right now. More information about how to donate will be available soon.
